Summary: The Advanced Practice Provideris responsible for patient care during facility and/or clinic visits in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and scope of practice and is knowledgeable of and supports the goals and policies of the organization. Essential Job Functions: Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections. Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance. Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities. Qualifications for Success: Education and Experience Requirements Education:Master's degree required. License/Certification:Current unencumbered license to practice in the state of employment as a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required. Experience and Requirements:2+ years of experience as a physician extender required. 2+ years of chronic disease management experience required. Knowledgeable of electronic medical record system and Microsoft Office or Google suite. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to identify emergent medical situations Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems Skill in operating office equipment. Strong social skills. Skill in organizational matters including time management, prioritization, and multitasking Skill in writing and communicating effectively. Skill in problem-solving. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Advance knowledge of electronic medical record systems, specifically Athena 1 preferred. Additional Job Details: Work Setting:On-site Job Type:Full-Time Schedule:Weekdays and ability to work flexible and extended hours, as needed. Compensation:Market competitive base pay, commensurate with education and experience.
