The Hallmark Company is currently hiring for a dynamic Maintenance Tech Assistant, responsible for supporting the Lead Maintenance Technician in performing repairs, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance of all equipment including appliances, electrical systems, and plumbing. The Maintenance Tech Assistant helps to complete resident service requests in a timely and courteous manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs, troubleshoots systems, and completes preventative maintenance.
• Assists with repairs to HVAC systems, appliances, water heaters, facility electrical systems, plumbing systems, and any other special equipment on a property.
• Required to be available for emergency maintenance calls 24 hours a day when scheduled.
• Prepares vacant apartments for occupancy and paints turnovers as needed.
• Diagnoses and performs minor and routine repairs of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, gutters, external/internal lighting under supervision of Lead Maintenance Technician.
• Walks the grounds and common interior areas daily, removing litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks, ramps, and indoor spaces.
• Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, steps, and driveways.
• Must be able to move heavy equipment safely, using proper equipment.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

• One (1) year maintenance experience required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• HVAC / EPA certification required.
• Previous multifamily experience preferred.
• Fair Housing Certificate required.
• Drivers license required.

Work Location: One location, In person

• Job Type: Full-time
• Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday through Friday
• On call
• Occasional overtime
• Weekends as needed
