About the Team:
Within our Warehouse and Distribution team, our mission is to ensure the efficient and effective movement and storage of products. This team serves as the backbone of our logistics operations, collaborating closely with other departments to deliver products on time and maintain inventory accuracy. This role is crucial to our operational efficiency, strategic growth, and overall success.
About the Role:
As a Yard Switcher, you will move tractor-trailer or trailers to different areas of the facility for loading and unloading.
Assist in preparation of trailers for loading/unloading.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists with directing incoming drivers to the correct parking slot for their trailer drop.
- Moves full-loaded trailers to designated dock doors for loading.
- Moves empty trailers to designated dock doors for loading.
- Ensures all dock trailers have wheels choked.
- Monitors switcher-truck for maintenance and upkeep.
- Responsible for safe and efficient moving of trailers to not damage any property.
- Receives, records, and distributes incoming and outgoing UPS, RPS and Federal Express packages.
- Monitoring yard area for unauthorized removal of product.
- Maintenance and upkeep of switcher truck.
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
What You’ll Bring:
- High School Diploma
- Previous truck driving experience is a major plus.
- Valid GA truckers’ driving license (Class A CDL), good vision and depth perception.
Must be able to handle cold (below freezing) and heat (90 - 100 degree) and be able to work in inclement weather. The ability to climb is essential. Ability to manually hook and unhook trucks required (if necessary).
