RTR Senior Accountant
As part of the Global Finance Organization, the North America Finance Operations Team is established to manage transactional processing services across North America within Sage. This hybrid role will manage some of the R2R team with a focus on assets/liabilities. This is a multifaceted role with accountability for timely and accurate processing of operational accounting leading into accurate period close/reporting. Also playing a significant role in the completion of statutory and regulatory accounting across North America Entity Structure.
This role is a major contributor being accountable for accurate and high-quality balance sheet completion including relevant R2R controls and governance. Delivering value add services to customers and key stakeholders through innovation & process improvement, which is a key part of the Sage culture and would be needed to ensure the success of the RTR team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing intercompany transactions, fixed asset management, prepaid expenses, and compliance with IFRS 16 standards. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting strategic financial decisions. This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week from our Lawrenceville office.Summary of role This role sits within the North America Finance Operations team and focuses on supporting the Record to Report (R2R) function across the region. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll help ensure accurate and timely operational accounting, strong balance sheet governance and reliable financial reporting. The role also contributes to statutory and regulatory reporting while helping the team improve processes and move toward greater automation. What I will be doing You’ll play a key role in the month-end close process, preparing journals, completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring controls are executed properly. A large part of the role involves managing intercompany transactions, maintaining accurate fixed asset accounting and overseeing prepaid expenses to ensure financial records are complete and compliant with accounting standards. You’ll also support IFRS 16 lease accounting by maintaining lease schedules and ensuring right-of-use assets and liabilities are recorded correctly. Working closely with global teams, you’ll help resolve discrepancies, maintain consistent reporting and support both internal and external audits. Alongside day-to-day accounting responsibilities, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, reporting around KPIs and wider finance projects that enhance efficiency and strengthen financial processes. What we are looking for We’re looking for a technically strong accountant with experience in general ledger accounting, reporting and balance sheet management. You should be comfortable working independently, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and collaborating with teams across the business. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability are essential. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Intacct, HFM or X3 would be beneficial, as would familiarity with reconciliation tools like BlackLine and experience working within the software industry. Knowledge of IFRS standards, particularly lease accounting, is preferred. A degree in accounting or finance is required, and a CPA qualification or the intention to sit the exams would be highly valued. #LI-ND1
