Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program
• Certification or registration required; EPIC proficiency strongly preferred
• At least one year of medical assisting experience
• Ability to accurately interpret and document medical terminology
• CPR certification required
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage patient flow to ensure efficiency
• Escort patients to discharge counters and assist with check-out
• Obtain patient history, assess and triage patients, measure vital signs, and document information
• Explain treatment procedures and prepare exam rooms and instruments for physicians
• Position instruments and equipment; assist physicians during procedures
• Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after use
• Complete medical charts, including documenting services, test results, and supplies used
• Perform patient call-backs, coordinate referrals and testing, and schedule follow-up appointments
• Assist registration staff and perform clerical duties as needed
