Finance Intern

Position overview

The summer intern in this position will spend approx. 3 months supporting the operations of the PFS Finance & Risk Management department. During this time, the intern will be tasked with a broad array of responsibilities and projects, gaining key insights into the role the finance team plays within the broader captive finance company.

The intern will also support the pricing and project controlling function of the PFS organization, learning the process through which we position our product offerings across multiple brands (Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti) as well as markets (US and Canada) and how we conduct financial feasibility analysis for products and projects.

The PFS Finance summer-internship is designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to apply their financial knowledge and expertise on business-relevant projects in a real-world environment.

The hourly range for this role is $18-$20.

Roles & responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of presentation for monthly pricing strategy meeting and associated supporting analyses.
• Assist with month-end financial reporting and close activities.
• Assist in the creation of PFS Financial Planning submissions (i.e. Budget, Long-Range Planning).
• Assist in preparation of cost center budgets and inputs to PFS SAP Planning Tool.
• Support business case development and financial evaluation of strategic business initiatives and projects.
• Assist with ad-hoc data query and analysis requests to assist various PFS departments.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Controlling, Finance, Accounting or Economics strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills (fluency in English required).
• Strong analytical skills with focus on detail and accuracy.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Expertise in data analysis skills (experience with Microsoft SQL Server, VBA, and SAP is preferred).
• Experience with captive finance company or within auto industry is a plus.
• Aptitude and willingness to work with new software is necessary.

Percentage of required travel: 0%

Schedule/Shift: 40 Hours per Week

Activity Based Work Policy: At least 2 days per week on-site (OPD)

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
