Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized nursing care for patients in the Emergency Room holding unit within a stepdown/PCU setting. This travel opportunity is based within a 100-mile radius of Midway, GA, offering a dynamic healthcare environment focused on complex cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and critical care cases. Immediate start required.

Schedule:

• Every other weekend coverage required
• Holiday shifts based on department needs
• No on-call or standby duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver RN care for PCU patients boarded in the ER holding unit, maintaining patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5, adjusted per acuity
• Interpret and document cardiac monitor strips using Spacelabs monitors, ensuring proper charting
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists for ABGs, breathing treatments, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, while RT manages ventilators and advanced devices including CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow
• Coordinate care with in-house X-ray and CT techs for timely imaging transport within the ER
• Participate in a unit-specific orientation during the first week of assignment to ensure smooth integration into department protocols

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active GA or Compact RN licensure, current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in PCU nursing or 1 year PCU with additional experience in Telemetry, ER, or ICU
• Successful completion of at least one previous travel nursing assignment with recent references required
• Compliance with the 100-mile radius rule (copy of driver's license required upon application)
