Warehouse Supervisor

Our client, an award-winning national distributor with over 70 years of industry stability and 20+ locations nationwide, is looking for a high caliber Supervisor to join their leadership team.

Core Responsibilities As the 1st Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the "pulse" of the warehouse, ensuring productivity meets the company’s high standards for accuracy and speed.

• Operational Leadership: Supervise all 1st-shift warehouse activities, ensuring accurate picking, shipments, and appropriate merchandise handling.

• Team Development: Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports; provide critical training on processes and procedures for 2nd shift transitions.

• Compliance & Safety: Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols; perform daily operations and safety checks on all powered industrial trucks.

• Strategic Coordination: Communicate business plans and departmental goals; collaborate with all levels of the organization to hit KPIs.

• Inventory Oversight: Maintain high-level accuracy in documentation for all outbound shipments and SKU management.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years in warehouse operations and 2–3 years specifically in Inventory Control and SKU Management.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating powered industrial trucks. Experience with Eclipse Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a major plus.

• Physical Standards: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely; comfortable working at heights (25’–30’) and in various environmental conditions (heat/cold/dust).

• Leadership Style: A "creativity and latitude" mindset, someone who can use judgment to solve complex distribution challenges independently.

Responsibilities

Primary Supervisory Responsibilities

• Team Management: Supervise all 1st-shift warehouse activities and employees, including monitoring and evaluating the performance of direct reports.

• Training & Development: Provide training on processes and procedures, specifically for 2nd-shift employees.

• Strategic Communication: Communicate business plans, departmental goals, and objectives to the team.

• Reporting: Report directly to the Operations Manager and complete other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Operational & Safety Duties

• Shipment Accuracy: Ensure the accurate picking, shipment, and documentation of all outbound merchandise.

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform operations and safety checks on all powered industrial trucks and maintain proficiency in operating them.

• Safety Enforcement: Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols for the department and branch.

• Workflow Management: Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of complicated tasks with creativity and latitude.

• Inventory Oversight: Ensure appropriate handling of merchandise while following distribution center concepts, practices, and procedures.

The essential functions of this role include:
