Be Part of Something New - Lead Pharmacy Operations at Wellstar's Brand-New Columbia County Medical Center in Grovetown, GA!

The Position

• The Director of Pharmacy provides oversight, direction, strategic planning, and coordination to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications across all operational, clinical, and financial pharmacy services at Wellstar's newest hospital, Columbia County Medical Center.
• The Pharmacy Director reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Operations and will oversee a team of 68 FTEs and three direct reports.
• This leader will establish the foundational framework for expanding pharmacy services, including growth into ambulatory and infusion services, while evaluating procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement, and strengthening medication safety practices.
• The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid understanding of medication safety, the ability to build and foster relationships, and excellent communication skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of the 340B program and the ability to effectively speak to financial performance and metrics are highly desirable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license required.
• Minimum of seven years of hospital pharmacy experience required, including at least three years in a leadership role.

The Organization

• Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center is a brand-new, state-of-the-art acute care hospital being developed to serve the rapidly growing Columbia County and Greater Augusta region, expanding access to high-quality healthcare close to home.
• The six-story campus is designed to include approximately 100 inpatient beds, a modern Emergency Department, six operating rooms, advanced imaging capabilities, interventional services, and a heliport to support critical patient transport.
• An adjacent medical office building will expand outpatient and specialty services, supporting a seamless continuum of care while addressing long-standing healthcare access needs in the community.
