Salted Melon Buckhead will offer fast casual all-day breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as baked goods, smoothies, and an extensive coffee/ tea offering. In addition, Salted Melon will have a limited retail market, fresh grab n go, and cocktail bar!

Job Summary

The Lead Line Cook is responsible for running kitchen operations while the Executive Chef is not in the kitchen and acting as the second in command in the kitchen while the Executive Chef is working. They are responsible for upholding Salted Melon food quality standards and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare delicious, gourmet foods.
• Demonstrate positive attitude, initiative, and enthusiasm.
• Manage kitchen staff to ensure SOP’s and recipes are being followed.
• Open the kitchen for service.
• Ensure ticket times are always below 10 minutes.
• Produce catering orders to be delivered on time and make sure all catering orders are fulfilled with quality.
• Communicate inventory needs to the Executive Chef.
• Communicate prep needs to the Executive Chef.
• Communicate misconduct of employees to the Executive Chef.
• Make sure health and safety standards are being followed by conducting the following daily tasks.
• Temp logs (hot and cold holding)
• Date marking (Check all dates)
• HAACP Checklist
• Hold employees accountable for being in uniform.
• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Put away truck shipments and ensure coolers are organized.
• Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
• Exhibit teamwork and effective communication
• Cross train and work in multiple kitchen stations, prep, dish, garnish, grill
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
