The Multifamily Division at McKinley is currently working on projects focused on the southeast states. We are looking for an Estimator with experience in multifamily construction projects. The Estimator is responsible for performing take-offs, budget estimates, developing scopes and clarifications. The Estimator will work with Project Managers on contract buyouts.
- Prepare estimates for multifamily construction projects
- Assess to the site availability of water, electricity, and any other services
- Able to interpret plans and specifications, perform takeoffs, develop estimates ranging from conceptual level to detailed lump sum estimates across various disciplines, evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Inspect site conditions and buildings to determine work needed to maintain buildings to code; and electrical, or plumbing, or mechanical and related codes
- Oversee the budgeting on a project and ensure that costs submitted by the contractor are accurate
- Must also be able to coordinate team activities, conduct project cost estimate review meetings, and interface with executive management
- Ability to lead the estimating effort with minimal supervision
- Assists the project manager in initial sequencing of construction activities, outlining components such as labor, materials, and equipment
- Site visits to examine projects, gather information and assess scope of work
- Track and improve estimating accuracy and efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Construction Science, Building Construction or equivalent
- At least three years recent (past year) estimating experience in the construction industry
- Prior experience in multifamily construction projects is preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong math, analytical/communication skills, and an eye for detail
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Bluebeam
- Working knowledge of Procore, P6, CAD, and Revit is a plus
