The Position: Construction Superintendent
We are looking for an inspiring, team-oriented Construction Superintendent to join our team. In this role you will lead and be
responsible for all on-site construction activities on all assigned Projects.
As a Construction Superintendent, your role may include….
- Review Final Construction Schedule and fully understand the sequencing of the Work.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings with all Subcontractors and Vendors to maintain job site safety.
- Be physically on-site anytime a Subcontractor is on-site to ensure proper supervision.
- Attend OAC meetings, as requested.
- Coordinate all utility work with the municipalities having jurisdiction.
- Report immediately to the Construction Manager and Development Manager any incidents that occur on-site and complete an incident report for Ownership and Insurance.
- With the Construction Manager, call in inspection requests to third-party consultants or municipalities to conduct required rough and final inspections to maintain Project Schedule.
- Confirm all material that is delivered to the Site is in good condition and in the quantities as expected. Note any damage or deficiencies to the Construction Manager.
- Ensure all Subcontractors arrive at the job site on time daily.
- With the Construction Manager, participate in site walks with the Ownership, as requested.
- Ensure all materials, tools and equipment are secured and accounted for to prevent theft.
- Coordinate all Subcontractor Work efficiently on-site to maintain a high-quality product.
- Coordinate deliveries on site and protect items until they are placed into the Work.
- With the Construction Manager, consistently be aware of any Work that is being done not reflecting the contract documents and bring it to the attention of the Development Manager.
- Keep the construction site clean and free of debris at all times.
- Ensure all persons visiting and working on site are not smoking, using illicit drugs or alcohol.
- Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
- With the Construction Manager, manage the overall project and 2-week look ahead schedules, including creating the master schedule and updating it on a weekly basis.
- Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
- With the Construction Manager, ensure all as-built conditions are marked on the contract documents and hand to the Development Manager to ensure proper records.
- With the Construction Manager, ensure all warranty claims during the one-year post construction are addressed and corrected.
- Delegate work to Assistant Superintendents to their abilities and skill sets.
- Maintain 10hr/30hr OSHA safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professional relationship with all Subcontractors, Vendors, Development Team and Ownership.

- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and management skills.
- Must be able to manage and navigated shifting work priorities effectively.
- Must have excellent skills in communicating appropriately with external and internal stakeholders simultaneously.
- Have a thorough understanding of construction documents and how the disciplines interact with each other.
- Have a great understanding of sequencing of construction activities and construction means and methods.
- Have 5-10 years of experience with on-site construction.
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF Professional, Bluebeam, web-based project management software, etc.

Education Requirement
- Hold a bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, construction management or related. Professional credentials (OSHA, CCM, PMP) are a plus.
