Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role combines hands-on execution with leadership of a small team, maintaining strong internal controls, managing month-end close, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Reports to the Vice President of Finance and Accounting.

Accounting Operations & Controls

• Oversee and execute accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, bank reconciliations, inventory counts, journal entries, and month-end close.

• Maintain chart of accounts, fixed assets schedules, and depreciation postings.

• Ensure all transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies.

• Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.

Team Leadership

• Directly manage two Accounting Specialists, providing coaching, guidance, and performance oversight.

• Promote continuous improvement of processes and efficient monthly close cycles.

Compliance & Audit

• Support annual financial statement audits and coordinate with external auditors and CPA firms.

• Ensure accurate and timely filing of sales tax returns.

• Respond to and remediate audit findings.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and variance reports.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

• Communicate key financial insights and risks to management.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration; CPA/CMA preferred.

• 7+ years accounting experience with progressive responsibilities; manufacturing experience a plus.

• Proven supervisory and team management experience.

• Strong technical skills: NetSuite or equivalent ERP, Microsoft Excel (intermediate–advanced), Microsoft Office.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

• Non-smoker/Non-vaper

Physical & Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based; ability to sit for extended periods.

• May occasionally lift up to 30 lbs for inventory counts or files.

• No travel required.
