Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent national certification (CST).
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of OB Surgical Technologist experience required for this assignment. 2 years of L&D RN experience preferred where relevant to perioperative obstetric care.
• Experience scrubpping C-sections and assisting with obstetrical surgeries, setting up tables for vaginal deliveries, and stocking labor and delivery unit supplies.
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital, or high-acuity environment preferred.
• Competence with sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and intraoperative workflow.
• Comfort working with unit-specific technology including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips monitoring systems is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team, including coordination with RN staff, CNAs, transport teams, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and OB physicians.

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital.
• Unit focus: Labor & Delivery, OR, PACU, Antepartum, Triage, Postpartum support as needed.
• Shift: Nights.
• Shift hours: 1900-0700.
• Typical weekly hours: 36 standard hours per week.
• Patient types: Laboring patients, antepartum patients, postpartum patients, surgical obstetric cases.
• On-unit staffing model: 2 OB Surg Techs per shift; may support PACU and OR as needed.
• Travel status: Travel assignment, 13-week duration.
