Job Summary
The Assembler is responsible for the safe disassembly, assembly, and testing of drilling and industrial equipment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards. The position involves working with heavy equipment components, tools, and production systems to ensure equipment is assembled accurately and efficiently.
Job Description
- Perform assembly and disassembly of equipment components with minimal supervision.
- Remove small quantities of metal to clean parts or create precise fits between components.
- Use SAP R3 to access technical drawings, review work orders, check labor hours, and print bills of material.
- Review routing instructions and clearly understand production requirements.
- Plan assembly procedures according to specifications and work instructions.
- Clean, prepare, and deburr materials prior to assembly.
- Drill and tap holes as required for component assembly.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Assist with rigging and material handling when necessary.
- Follow assigned work schedules, which may include weekends or holidays when required.
- Perform all work safely to prevent damage to equipment or injury to personnel.
- Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Quality procedures.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Skills Required
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with drilling equipment or similar mechanical systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on assembly work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Experience working in manufacturing, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments.
- Familiarity with equipment assembly processes and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and working at varying heights.
- Handling tools and materials weighing up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Carrying loads up to 50 pounds with two hands.
- Performing pushing or pulling motions requiring up to 50 pounds of force.
- Maintaining balance while navigating uneven surfaces.
- Repetitive hand movements and manual dexterity when operating tools.
- Working in High heat (above 100°F) or cold conditions (below 32°F)
- Working in High humidity environments
- Working in Elevated heights and confined spaces
- Working in Areas near water
- Working in Loud environments exceeding 85 decibels
- Working in Exposure to airborne contaminants such as dust, paint vapors, sand, and welding gases
- Shift: 12hrs shifts 4 d ays/week - 1 weekend every other week
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $19 - $22 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
- $2 shift differential for overnight shift
