1. Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new government contracting opportunities at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth objectives in the government sector.
- Monitor and analyze government market trends and competitor activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies and procurement officials.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and government meetings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all government clients.
- Lead the preparation and submission of bids, proposals, and RFQs/RFPs for government projects.
- Ensure all proposals are compliant with government regulations and requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information and resources for proposals.
- Oversee the negotiation and administration of government contracts.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Manage contract modifications, amendments, and renewals.
- Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals focused on government contracts.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
- Develop and manage the government sales budget.
- Monitor financial performance of government contracts and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to all government regulations and compliance standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with government contracts.
- Stay updated on changes in government contracting laws and regulations.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in government sales, preferably within the electrical contracting or construction industry.
- Proven track record of securing and managing government contracts.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficient in CRM software and sales management tools.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to travel to government offices and job sites as required.
- Ability to work in an office environment and use standard office equipment.
- This position typically works in an office setting, but frequent visits to government offices and job sites are required.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
