Job Description:
We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Full Stack Developer in Richmond, VA or Atlanta, GA with a strong front-end and visual design focus to join our team. In this role,
you’ll own the complete front-end experience — from building responsive
interfaces to shaping the visual design and usability of the product.
You’ll lead UI development using React or Angular ,
contribute to back-end integration with C#/.NET Core , and design high-quality,
intuitive user experiences — all without the handoff from a dedicated designer.
You’ll collaborate with product owners to shape the look and feel of our
platform and ensure the front-end experience is modern, consistent, and
user-friendly.
This is a great opportunity for a developer who enjoys
working across the stack but thrives when crafting polished, visually cohesive
interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design,
develop, and maintain responsive front-end applications using JavaScript,
React, or Angular. - Optimize
CMS (WordPress) around SEO-relevant metrics (page speed, CWV…) and
features (indexing, schema markups, UX…). - Conduct
AB tests and iterate on designs and interactions based on user feedback
and/or analytics. - Implement
advanced web analytics tools and systems.
- Create mockups,
wireframes, or lightweight prototypes when needed to align design intent.
- Integrate
front-end components with .NET Core APIs and Azure services. - Implement
consistent UI styling using modern CSS (SASS/SCSS), design tokens, and
reusable component patterns. - Optimize
applications for performance, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and
cross-browser/device compatibility. - Use
Azure DevOps to contribute to deployment pipelines and environment
management.
- Maintain clean, scalable
code and advocate for visual and interaction quality across the front-end
stack.
- Collaborate
with stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into
polished, user-centered interfaces — no designer handoff expected.
Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Strong
experience with React, Angular, or other modern front-end frameworks. - Excellent
skills in HTML5, CSS3, SASS/SCSS, and responsive layout techniques. - Proficient
in JavaScript/TypeScript, and capable of integrating with back-end APIs
and services. - WordPress
theme creation experience, especially custom plugins and WPEngine
exposure. - Strong
understanding of UX best practices, accessibility, and responsive web
design. - Proficient
use of AI tools to boost productivity. - Experience
using design/prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or
browser-based mockups. - Familiarity
with design systems or building component libraries. - A/B
Testing experience - SEO
understanding and awareness around current trends. - Google
Tag Manager and Google Analytics (other web analytics tools acceptable) - Familiar
with Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices. - Able
to troubleshoot across the stack — UI bugs, API issues, or deployment
errors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Software Engineering, or related
field—or equivalent experience. - 3+
years of experience in front-end or full-stack development, with a strong
visual/UI design orientation. - Demonstrated
ability to take ownership of a product’s front-end, both in function and
in form.
Nice to Have:
· Experience conducting lightweight UX research or
usability testing.
- Experience
with Azure Functions, CosmosDB, or Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep). - Background
in branding, illustration, or motion design is a plus.
Why Join Us:
- Own
the entire front-end: your work defines the visual and interactive
experience of our product. - Contribute
to a mission-driven startup that donates 5% of every policy sold to fight
homelessness. - Join a
collaborative, direct, and impact-focused team where your ideas matter. - Grow
your technical and creative skills in a fast-paced environment with real
influence over product direction.
