Civil Designer / Open Roads Designer

Apollo Technical is seeking an experienced Bentley OpenRoads Drafter/Designer for a 1–2 month contract to support critical civil and site design projects.

You’ll play a key role in producing accurate roadway, grading, and site infrastructure plans using Bentley OpenRoads, ensuring all designs meet project specifications, deadlines, and DOT standards.

Contract Duration: 1–2 months
Location: On-site or hybrid (as needed) – Duluth, GA
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on candidate experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D roadway, grading, and site infrastructure drawings in Bentley OpenRoads .

• Prepare plan, profile, and cross-section views incorporating alignment, grading, drainage, and utility information.

• Interpret engineering sketches, surveys, and specifications into accurate CAD deliverables.

• Coordinate with engineers and designers to integrate civil/site work with overall project requirements.

• Revise drawings quickly and accurately based on markups or project changes.

• Maintain file organization, drawing standards, and documentation consistency.

Qualifications

Required

• Proven experience using Bentley OpenRoads for roadway or civil infrastructure drafting/design.

• Knowledge of horizontal and vertical alignment, grading, cross-sections, and drainage design.

• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, surveys, and technical specifications.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred

• Prior experience producing DOT-compliant roadway plans.

• Familiarity with MicroStation workflows and CAD standards.

• Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
