Role and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Manage members of internal and external communications team while working closely with the CEO and Human Resource Department. Public Relations: - Develop and execute PR strategies to promote the company's EV products and initiatives.
- Cultivate relationships with journalists, industry influencers, and stakeholders in the EV sector.
- Pitch stories, press releases, and thought leadership articles to media outlets covering EVs and clean energy.
- Organize press events, product launches, and promotional campaigns to generate positive media coverage.
Governmental Affairs: - Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to electric vehicles, renewable energy, and environmental policies.
- Engage with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies to advocate for supportive policies and incentives for EV adoption.
- Represent the company's interests in industry associations, coalitions, and advocacy groups focused on clean transportation and sustainability.
- Provide strategy guidance to internal teams on navigating regulatory landscapes and compliance requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement: - Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, sales, and product development to align PR and advocacy efforts with business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with EV industry partners, environmental organizations, and community stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations to advance the company's EV agenda and enhance its reputation.
Crisis Communication: - Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to address potential reputational risks and issues.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the company during crisis or sensitive situations, effectively managing media inquiries and public perception.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure messaging aligns with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Thought Leadership: - Position company executives as thought leaders in the EV industry through speaking engagements, industry panels, and bylined articles.
- Identify speaking opportunities and industry conferences to showcase the company's expertise and contributions to the EV sector.
- Develop content and messaging to communicate the company's vision, values, and contributions to sustainable transportation.
Skill and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Environmental Studies or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years experience in public relations, governmental affairs
- 5+ years of direct experience with legislative and regulatory processes, preferably related to energy, transportation, and environmental policies.
- Excellent communication Skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of building relationships with government officials, industry stakeholders, and media contacts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute integrated PR and advocacy campaigns
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferably 3+ years experience in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with PR software / tools.
- 3+ years experience in advocacy roles within the automotive clean energy industry (Nice to have).
