IT Security Manager

We are looking for an experienced and proactive IT Security Manager to lead and enhance the security operations of an established Information Security team. As a key member of the team, you will report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and play a pivotal role in overseeing the security operations and compliance processes within the organization.

In this role, you will manage the Security Operations Center (SOC), collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to security policy, architecture, and training. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring a robust security posture while driving continuous improvements across security standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the deployment, integration, and configuration of new and existing security solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and security documentation.
Develop and maintain the department's security architecture design, continuously enhancing and updating it to meet evolving threats.
Collaborate with the InfoSec Compliance team to ensure effective implementation of Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans.
Drive processes for auditing and addressing noncompliance with information security standards to ensure an acceptable security posture.
Support and maintain the organization's security awareness training program, ensuring that all employees are well-versed in security best practices.
Conduct studies to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices related to security and information protection.
Manage security administration for IT projects and oversee the evaluation and selection of security applications and systems.
Provide recommendations for improving work methods and security measures to enhance operational efficiency and security.
Continue the development and maintenance of security documents, including policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Lead investigations into security incidents and communicate findings to the CISO and InfoSec team.
Oversee the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required).
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GIAC are preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in information security, with a proven track record of managing a Security Operations Center (SOC) and leading security operations teams.
Strong experience with security policy development, security architecture, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery planning.
Solid understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, ISO 27001, or other industry standards.
Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
Strong technical expertise in security tools such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk), endpoint security, and threat intelligence tools.
Expertise in network security principles, including firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience interfacing with executives to advise on security posture, risks, and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with cloud security solutions and environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Experience in government or public sector environments, with knowledge of federal/state regulations.
