We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a dynamic team in the construction industry based in Atlanta, Georgia. This contract-to-permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual to support the financial operations of a service-driven organization with a national footprint. The position is ideal for someone with solid accounting fundamentals who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities:• Manage daily general ledger accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Provide support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense analysis.
• Assist with payroll accounting tasks and perform related reconciliations.
• Handle large volumes of contractor and labor-related financial data efficiently.
• Collaborate with a small, focused corporate accounting team to meet organizational goals.
• Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support system-related initiatives as needed.• A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with a focus on detail-oriented work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is required.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and operations.
• Experience in high-transaction or service-oriented environments.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax returns.
• Expertise in journal entries and general ledger management.
• Exposure to contractor-heavy or labor-intensive business models is preferred.
