Shipping Supervisor - 2nd Shift

We are looking for a 2nd shift Shipping Supervisor  to join our team! This person will be responsible for overseeing the second shift shipping team and ensuring all customer orders are packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment accurately, safely, and efficiently. This position supervises daily packaging operations, maintains shipping documentation, monitors department performance, and works closely with production to ensure completed products are prepared and staged for shipment according to customer requirements and company standards.

Requirements

What You’ll Do: 

• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

• Supervise and support shipping personnel during second-shift operations.

• Ensure customer orders are packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment accurately and on time.

• Verify order accuracy, quantities, labeling, and packaging requirements prior to shipment.

• Ensure all products are packaged according to company, customer, and carrier specifications.

• Monitor daily shipping activities to maintain quality, productivity, and efficiency standards.

• Maintain accurate shipping records and prepare reports for management as required.

• Troubleshoot shipping discrepancies, packaging issues, and customer concerns when necessary.

• Manage proof of delivery and shipping documentation.

• Assist with and supervise loading activities to ensure products are handled safely and securely.

• Operate and oversee the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.

• Conduct routine equipment inspections and safety checks.

• Coordinate with production personnel to ensure finished goods are packaged and prepared for shipment in a timely manner.

• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shipping area.

• Monitor packaging material inventory and communicate supply needs to management.

• Train employees on packaging procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and shipping processes.

• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance packaging efficiency, order accuracy, and workplace safety.

• Prepare and submit shipping, inventory, and equipment reports as required.

• Other duties as assigned by Management. 

Who You Are: 

• Previous supervisory experience in shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, or packaging operations preferred.

• Strong understanding of packaging, shipping preparation, and warehouse operations.

• Ability to lead employees and maintain a productive work environment.

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and order accuracy.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

• Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English and follow verbal and written instructions.

• Must have strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to follow all safety regulations and company policies.

• Good time-management and decision-making skills.

• May occasionally be required to handle items weighing in excess of 50 pounds. 

• Forklift certification and material handling experience preferred.
