Human Capital Generalist
What You Can Expect Working in the Human Capital Generalist Position
The Human Capital Generalist facilitates the daily functions of the Human Resource department and implements HR strategy, programs and services that will further the business goals of the organization while providing an excellent employee experience. This role will manage recruitment processes, employee relations, safety program, regulatory compliance and training and development.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to recruitment and orientation; compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Manages employee relations issues as they arise and provides consultation and coaching to management, advising the managers according to the company's best practices, policies and procedures.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Manages the organization's employee database and prepares reports.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting human resources management. Identifies trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources and makes recommendations.
- Promotes and holds team accountable for a safe and secure working environment and ensure team follows safety protocol.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources/Business Relations or Related Field; and three plus years of experience.
- Knowledgeable regarding labor law, worker's compensation, and specific state law requirements.
- The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shifts in priorities.
- This position requires confidence, independent action, initiative, and a sense of urgency.
- Effective business systems thinker and a good understanding of business process knowledge.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as ADP Workforce Now.
- Valid Driver's License.
Work Environment

- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
