Structural Engineering Manager
Location: Cumming, GA (On-Site)
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 base + up to 20% bonus
Overview
A well-established industrial services organization is seeking a Structural Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on evaluating, analyzing, and improving existing structures across heavy industrial environments.
This is not a traditional design role. The team is brought in when structures need to be assessed, issues identified, and solutions developed. The work is highly consultative, field-influenced, and centered around real-world problem solving.
This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity with direct impact on both engineering operations and project execution.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a team of Structural Engineers and junior staff
- Oversee structural assessments, inspections, and analysis of existing structures
- Identify deficiencies and develop practical remediation solutions
- Review and approve engineering reports and technical documentation
- Provide technical guidance on complex structural challenges
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with internal teams on project execution and client deliverables
- Help improve processes, reporting consistency, and overall engineering standards
- Strong background in Structural Engineering
- Experience working with existing structures (inspections, assessments, or failure analysis)
- Ability to lead or step into a leadership role
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a client-facing environment
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading projects
- Industrial environments such as:
- Power plants
- Cement facilities
- Paper mills
- Heavy manufacturing
- Experience with:
- Structural deficiencies and remediation
- Inspection and reporting
- Structural analysis tools (RISA, STAAD, ETABS, etc.)
- PE license (or on track to obtain)
- Step into a leadership role with real visibility
- Work on complex, real-world structural challenges
