Lead Shop Foreman

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff to produce high-quality manufactured products and organize workflow efficiently.
• Communicate, train, guide, and coach staff to optimize team efforts in manufacturing.
• Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results.
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
• Ensure the operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment, and implementing changes.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong background in welding and metal fabrication, AWS D1.5 certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with AISC standards.
• Experience supervising a team of 25 to 50 tradesmen.
• Ability to interact with multiple shifts.
• Attention to safety, detail, and quality.
• Experience with heavy structures fabrication and welding (100 to 500 tons).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of prior supervisory experience.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
• Ability to provide guidance and direction effectively and appropriately.
• Ability to set direction, make decisions, and oversee departments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to deliver business results both independently and through others.
