What You’ll Do:
Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following strict safety and procedural protocols.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling, proper handling, and documentation of all samples.
Verify patient demographic data and obtain necessary signatures post-venipuncture to ensure specimen integrity.
Create a trustful environment by explaining collection procedures clearly and compassionately, fostering confidence and comfort.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Demonstrate professionalism and uphold safety standards in all interactions, contributing to a positive clinical environment.
Flexibly support various locations—including patient service centers and clinical settings—adapting to changing staffing needs.
Exercise good judgment and exercise independence in performing routine duties while adhering to established procedures.
Participate in ongoing training and maintain certification requirements as mandated.
Required Skills:
1-3 years of direct phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Strong venipuncture skills, with a focus on safety and patient comfort.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain procedures clearly to diverse patient populations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume environment.
Proficiency in data entry and record-keeping.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Ability to navigate multiple sites and prioritize effectively in a busy setting.
Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and patient privacy regulations.
Nice to Have Skills:
Medical assistant or paramedic training.
Certification in phlebotomy from an accredited program.
Experience working in a clinical laboratory or hospital environment.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a patient service center or clinical laboratory setting.
Additional training or certification relevant to phlebotomy and specimen collection.
Other Requirements:
Must provide proof of phlebotomy certification where applicable (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington).
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities efficiently.
Must have reliable transportation, with a travel-ready, flexible schedule.
Physical ability to perform venipuncture and maneuver in clinical environments.
Maintain compliance with all organizational policies, safety standards, and dress code.
