Infant Toddler Teacher
Summary Under the supervision of the Director, in cooperation with other staff, and consistent with the center's mission, the Infant/Toddler Teacher is responsible for implementing the education and social development of children. The job description of an Infant/Toddler Teacher involves patience, a compassionate and friendly demeanor, the ability to think creatively, and a background in early childhood education. The Infant/Toddler Teacher will demonstrate leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for children enrolled, while making sure that the classroom quality is reaching goals and standards. The Infant/Toddler Teacher will comply with day to day operations in accordance to state licensing. Duties
- Be able to provide sound, caring and positive leadership for staff and children.
- Able to maintain a safe and fun environment for children
- Provide, to everyone, extraordinary customer service to parent(s).
- Be able to recognize and implement safety standards in all program activities.
- Be able to participate effectively with other staff in implementing creative and fun activities for students.
- Have a good understanding of the mission and values of the Center and be able to demonstrate and teach based on those values.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- At least 1 year experience in early childhood programs.
- Must have current CPR and First Aid certifications or achieve in first 90 days.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/ dangerous situations.
Ability to work actively outdoors and/or indoors while supervising children and staff. Ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel. Ability to lift and carry equipment to appropriate destinations or affect the carrying of such equipment. Ability to use senses which enable safe supervision including seeing and/or hearing.
