Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components for front and rear panels, chassis, housings, cabinets, enclosures, and large mechanical assemblies. This role also focuses on assembling precision electro-mechanical equipment, fitting mechanical parts into housings, and aligning components to ensure smooth and reliable operation of the completed mechanical assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components for front and rear panels, chassis, housings, cabinets, enclosures, and large mechanical assemblies according to provided documentation and specifications.
- Build and assemble precision electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring all mechanical parts are correctly fitted into housings and aligned for smooth operation.
- Install interconnect wiring and assemblies into enclosures as required by the assembly process and documentation.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to understand assembly requirements and sequence of operations.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and simple measuring devices, such as screwdrivers, pliers, tape measures, and other standard tools, to complete mechanical assembly tasks.
- Follow well-defined documentation that clearly identifies the mechanical assembly process and adhere to established production procedures and quality standards.
- Inspect assembled components and equipment to verify proper fit, alignment, and mechanical function, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and clean and maintain warehouse equipment on a daily basis.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and support increased order volume, including overtime when required.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to perform mechanical assembly work, including assembling mechanical components into panels, housings, cabinets, enclosures, and larger assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings for mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency using standard hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and other common assembly tools.
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively in a production or assembly environment.
- Ability to use simple measuring devices, including tape measures and similar tools, to verify dimensions and alignment.
- Strong attention to small details to ensure accurate assembly, proper fit, and smooth mechanical operation.
- Capability to follow well-defined documentation and established assembly processes in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a mechanical or electro-mechanical production or manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working with both mechanical components and interconnect wiring within enclosures.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse equipment and work areas.
- Reliability in supporting production demands, including working overtime when needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a well-lit, climate-controlled facility designed to provide a comfortable and consistent work setting. Work is performed on a first shift schedule, typically from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with current needs including approximately 10–15 hours of overtime per week to meet order demands. The environment supports production and assembly activities, with access to standard hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices, and an expectation that warehouse equipment and work areas are cleaned and maintained daily.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duluth, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
