Interim Controller (Hospital)

At Warbird Healthcare Advisors, we are continuously building a network of experienced Interim Controllers to support our clients in various healthcare settings - from large integrated health systems, physician groups, Academic Medical Centers, and standalone facilities. • Compensation: Competitive, 1099 or W2 salary plus travel expenses

What You’ll Do (Scope May Vary by Assignment):

• Lead and manage all financial functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, annual/monthly statement preparation, inventory, fixed assets, receivables/payables, Payroll and reconciliations.
• Coordinate tax returns, audits, and reviews with outside accountants along with maintaining the treasury relationship with the banks and financial lenders.
• Oversee general accounting, revenue cycle, and cost reporting functions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls
• Stabilize or optimize financial processes during periods of organizational change

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• CPA or MBA preferred

• Minimum seven (7) years' proven experience as a Controller or senior financial leader in a healthcare or hospital setting
• Track record of success in interim, consulting, or project-based roles
• Experience with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech)
• Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and cost reporting
• Comfortable adapting quickly to new environments and challenges
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
