Hospice Community Specialist – Business Development / Sales
Visiting Nurse Health System (Visiting Nurse) is seeking a Hospice Community Specialist who is a dynamo in building and maintaining stellar relationships within the Hospice space. The ideal candidate is experienced in healthcare business development, specifically in admissions and referrals, with a demonstrated history of working with major accounts in the Metro Atlanta market. We are seeking a senior business development professional to help scale a census for one of the longest-serving non-profit providers of hospice and home-based healthcare in the state of Georgia, headquartered in Dunwoody, GA 30346.
Hospice care is a specialized service for those approaching the end of their life journey. VNHS seeks a calm, compassionate, and empathetic professional who cares for the patient and their family during this difficult time. In this position...
Relationship Management
- Develops opportunities for new and enhanced referral relationships with assigned physician offices, senior living communities, rehab centers, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals.
- Establishes personal relationships with key representatives of assigned referral sources, including physicians, directors of case management, social workers, discharge planners, wellness planners, senior administrative officials, and other healthcare sales representatives with reciprocal relationship potential.
- Assists with explaining hospice to families and patients; works with referral partners, the Hospice Atlanta nursing team, and facility staff to help complete paperwork.
Territory Management
- Utilizes Excel Health to identify key customers and tailor the message.
- Maintains and updates the call cycle with the most relevant, business-driving physicians and facilities that maximize time and resources.
- Collaborates with the Branch team to develop a business plan for the territory, incorporating SMART goals that hold each team member accountable.
Leadership
- Actively role models strong customer service skills
- Projects a positive attitude and spirit to all customers, both inside and outside the organization.
- Dresses, acts, speaks, and operates with the utmost professionalism.
- Works in a team, adapts to strategic and evolving business plans, and critically analyzes opportunities through territory knowledge and company tools.
Documentation & Administration
- Develops and maintains accurate records within account management software for current and potential customers.
- Performs a pre-call plan for each customer before each interaction, utilizing Excel Health and other company tools and knowledge.
Do you have....
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or Business Administration
- Two (2) years of healthcare sales environment in Hospice or Home Health preferred
- Knowledge of the Atlanta healthcare market in Hospice or Home Health is preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current vehicle insurance

Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000
