Mechanical Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for leading and supporting gas utility engineering projects from planning and design through construction and closeout. This role involves working closely with Senior Engineers, Project Managers, and clients, taking a lead role in project execution, technical development, and client communication. The Engineer II will also contribute to proposal development, project scoping, and mentoring junior staff.
KEY JOB DUTIES:- Lead and perform detailed mechanical engineering analyses and coordinate designs in the gas utilities field.
- Serve as a primary client contact, ensuring alignment on project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Establish mechanical design requirements, including material selection and equipment sizing.
- Conduct and lead design review meetings with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, client specifications, and industry regulations.
- Develop and coordinate construction materials, design standards, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient and compliant design solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and assist in resolving complex design-related issues.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required, or related field.
- This position requires 3-6 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or related field.
- E.I.T preferred/P.E. track expected.
- Experience in technical report writing, gas distribution, gas transmission, gas facilities and LNG background strongly preferred.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience using the following software preferred: AutoCAD, Excel, Bluebeam.
