Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on a PRN night shift schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse passionate about providing specialized care to newborns and supporting families during critical moments.

About the Role

The RN Clinical Nurse works as part of an interdisciplinary care team, ensuring that each patient receives safe, high-quality, and individualized care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care to neonatal patients
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient responses
• Provide culturally sensitive, family-centered care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Participate in bedside shift reports, care coordination, and patient/family education
• Support quality improvement, research, and shared governance activities
• Serve as a mentor or preceptor to newer staff when needed
• Comply with all nursing standards, policies, and ethical guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Education: ADN or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• Licensure & Certifications:
  • Active RN license (Single-State or Multi-State Compact)
  • BLS (AHA or equivalent)
  • NRP certification (or provisional status obtained within 180 days)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience required
• Skills:
  • Strong critical-thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent or emergent situations
  • Proficiency with clinical documentation systems
