• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1460-$1500
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
• Location: Austin, TX 78704 (Texas nursing jobs)
• Facility: Local hospital
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Profile: 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track beds, 5 behavioral health beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 ED, 1:5 Behavioral Health, 1:3 Cardiac/Trauma
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS
• Trauma nursing experience required
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Ability to work rotating weekends and night shifts
• Strong multitasking, teamwork, and self-starter skills

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced emergency room setting
• Perform emergency procedures: splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central lines, airway support, and behavioral health de-escalation
• Operate clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, rapid infusers, Stryker stretchers
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team: charge nurses, PCTs, paramedics, LVNs
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using MEDITECH EMR
• Comply with hospital policies and emergency department guidelines
• Participate in unit activities and foster a positive work environment
