Job Summary

As the Assistant General Manager at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of a vibrant, high-volume campus dining program. This position is primarily focused on morning shift operations (Tuesday–Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., off Sunday and Monday), making it ideal for hospitality professionals who thrive in early-day environments.

In this hands-on role, you will manage and motivate a team of associates, uphold uncompromising standards for food quality and service, and support operational and financial objectives. A passion for hospitality, excellence, and client satisfaction is essential. Flexibility is required to occasionally support evening or weekend events aligned with student life and campus activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support food service operations in alignment with budgetary goals, driving value for the client.

• Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional food and service to students, faculty, staff, and campus guests.

• Build and sustain collaborative relationships with associates, campus partners, and clients.

• Provide daily team leadership, quality assurance, and operational execution.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure account success.

Qualifications

• Must be available for early morning shifts (Tuesday–Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ), with flexibility to occasionally support nights and weekends for special events.

• 2–4 years of progressive food service management experience in campus dining, restaurants, hotels, healthcare, corporate, or military environments.

• Strong culinary and operational expertise, including purchasing and cost control.

• Demonstrated financial and business acumen.

• ServSafe Certification preferred.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet-based applications.

• Associate’s degree preferred.
