Title: Day Porter

Hours: Full Time, 1st shift 7:30AM - 4PM Mon - Fri

$14.00/hr

SUMMARY: This position will perform Custodial work. The Day Porter will clean all areas of the facility (Per industry standards, approximately 4,500 - 5,000 sq ft will need to be cleaned within 1 hour - this will vary by location) by performing the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Company.
  • Performs routine cleaning of office areas, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and all other areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
  • Mops and sweeps as needed.
  • Cleans and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings as requested by the supervisor. Uses safety pole for high dusting. Checks and changes vacuum cleaner bags daily/weekly.
  • Empties waste paper baskets; collects, bags, and disposes of paper and debris as directed; collects and places in containers garbage, broken glass, and litter. Removes trash to appropriate refuse container.
  • Ensures that custodial carts are neat and tidy and uniform daily.
  • Replenishes rest room supplies. Cleans, disinfects, and services lavatories, locker rooms, and rest rooms. Cleans all fixtures daily.
  • Maintains high quality service standards when performing job duties.
  • Completes own work with normal supervision.
  • Performs related work as directed.
  • Ensures cleaning carts are not left unattended and custodial closet remains locked at all times. Keeps hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Reports to work on time and dressed in company uniform to also include employee badge and black safety shoes. Adheres to attendance policy.
  • Identifies and reports safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Follows safety procedures which include the correct use of PPE and other Safety requirements based on the job.
  • Reports structural concerns to Manager immediately.
  • Completes work orders, corrective inspection forms, and additional duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED. One to three months related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.


QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided.
  • Must be able to communicate and understand English.


TYPE OF CHEMICAL USED:
In general we use Green Products. In the accounts you will be using Floor Strippers, Floor Finish, Grout Cleaners, Tile Cleaners, and Spot removers, Germicidal, Deodorizers and Glass Cleaners.


PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bend 15 to 30 times during 6.5 hours shift
  • Carry 5 to 10 times while carrying 5-10 pounds.
  • Kneels 15 to 30 times.
  • Lift floor to waist 3 to 4 times.
  • Pull and Push 3 to 5 times while carrying 15 to 20 pounds.
  • Reach overhead 3 to 5 times while carrying 0-1 pounds.
  • Sits 2-3 times during the 6.5 hour shift.
  • Stands 80% of the time while carrying 1-5 pounds.
  • Twist 10% of times while carrying 1-5 pounds.
  • Walks approximately 50% of the time while carrying 15-10 pounds.
  • Grasp 75% of the time.
