RN – Labor & Delivery (Local Contract)
Location: New York, NY 10037
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Schedule: 3 shifts per week | 34.5 hours/week (11.5-hour shifts)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to provide high-quality maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in high-acuity situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and critical situations
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Administer medications and support conscious sedation as required
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery / Maternal & Child Health experience
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience with conscious sedation
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Experience in high-acuity hospital or acute care settings
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program
Required Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Primary Source Verification of NYS RN Registration (NYSED)
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification
- NRP Certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
