Provides a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their growth in all developmental areas. This role involves planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities, supervising children to ensure their well-being, and collaborating with parents and colleagues to support each child's learning journey and readiness for school.
Responsibilities
- - Plan and implement a comprehensive curriculum that addresses the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children.
- - Utilize various instructional techniques, including play-based learning, storytelling, and hands-on activities, to teach fundamental skills like letters, numbers, colors, and shapes.
- - Adapt teaching methods to meet individual children's needs and interests, ensuring a stimulating and engaging learning experience.
- - Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment.
- - Implement positive behavior guidance to encourage respectful interaction and social skills among children.
- - Organize daily routines, including naptime, snack time, and physical activity periods.
- - Supervise children closely to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- - Observe and document each child's progress, identifying any potential developmental or emotional concerns and communicating them to parents.
- - Promote children's social skills by facilitating sharing, cooperation, and problem-solving.
- - Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and daily activities.
- - Involve parents in their child's learning, seeking their input on culturally appropriate curriculum elements and their child's interests.
- - Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and specialists to create an optimal learning environment.
- - Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and learning activities.
Education Requirements
- - Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- - Previous experience working with young children in a child care or educational setting.
- - Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- - Creativity and resourcefulness in developing engaging and multi-sensory lesson plans.
- - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and meet other physical demands, such as standing, crouching, and walking.
- - Completion of required background checks.
