Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a part-time technical instructor for our Computer-Aided Drafting Technology Department. This individual is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe teaching environment, developing curriculum and daily preparation for classroom and lab instruction. This position also requires evaluation of student progress in attaining goals and objectives. This position assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts as well. This position is part-time/exempt.
Please note the following information regarding this position:- May require teaching on or off campus at high schools throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County)
- May require travel
- May be required to teach Fridays or Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- Instructing students in drafting technology skill areas
- Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals and objectives
- Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
- Maintain supplies, tools, and equipment
- Maintain management procedures and documentation
- Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ progress
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas
- Respond in a timely manner to administrative requests
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Effective written and oral communication
- General Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Experience with Autodesk, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks (CAD Software) preferred
- Maintain accurate and timely attendance, grade, and program related records
- Other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Aided Drafting, Drafting Technology or related field.
-OR-
- A Diploma in Drafting Technology from an accredited college or technical institution
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in the drafting field
Training or teaching experience preferred.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
