The Senior Project Manager is a high-level individual contributor within the project management function, responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex, high-value, and strategically important projects, typically ranging up to $20–70M in scope depending on complexity and business impact. This role requires strong project leadership, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, high-stakes environments.

The Senior Project Manager brings advanced expertise in project management methodologies, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and change leadership. A key focus of this role is building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, serving as a reliable delivery partner who ensures alignment between project execution and expected outcomes.

Operating without direct supervisory responsibility over functional teams, the Senior Project Manager leverages influence, credibility, and deep project expertise to:

• Lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving project requirements.
• Align project execution with organizational strategy, scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Ensure consistent delivery excellence with a strong focus on predictability, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across project teams.

This role plays a key part in strengthening the organization’s reputation for reliable execution and customer-centric delivery. This is a US-based remote role requiring significant travel (approximately 50–70%).

Tasks and Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional projects and programs.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope definition, schedules, budgets, resource planning, and risk management strategies.
• Ensure delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Apply appropriate project management methodologies based on project size, complexity, and business needs.

Governance & Risk Management

• Establish and maintain project governance aligned with organizational standards and best practices.
• Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation plans as needed.
• Escalate critical issues in a timely manner to ensure project continuity and alignment.
• Ensure adherence to established project management processes, tools, and reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, business stakeholders, and internal project teams.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for project status, risks, and delivery updates.
• Facilitate clear, consistent communication across internal teams and external partners.
• Influence decisions through data-driven insights, structured analysis, and strong communication skills.

Planning & Coordination

• Support project planning and prioritization within assigned programs or portfolios.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align resources, schedules, and deliverables.
• Monitor project performance and support continuous improvement of delivery practices.

Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the development and documentation of project management best practices.
• Share lessons learned and process improvements across project teams.
• Provide informal mentoring and guidance to junior project managers and project team members.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in project management.
• 3+ years in a senior or lead project management role.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time and within budget.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience developing and managing detailed project schedules across engineering, manufacturing, installation, and integration activities.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, risk management, and contract coordination.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and SAP.
• Knowledge of the material handling industry is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• PMP certification strongly preferred; additional certifications in project management methodologies are a plus.
