This contract position offers a dynamic work environment within a Level 1 Trauma-designated teaching hospital known for its specialized Chest Pain and Stroke Centers. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care on Med/Surg and Telemetry inpatient units with patient ratios of 1:4-6 for RNs.
• Manage bedside care including trach and chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer monitoring.
• Administer common drips such as insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips, demonstrating proficiency in all cardiac medication titrations.
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and needs are met.
• Utilize EMR (EPIC), IV pumps, and monitor equipment to document and track patient status accurately.
• Float across different Med/Tele units as required within the facilitys float pool system.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and telemetry nursing experience required.
• Active RN license.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred (travelers must pass EKG competency exam on boarding).
• Certification in Med/Surg nursing is a plus.
• Strong skills in trach care, chest tube management, and cardiac drips are essential.
• First-time travelers are welcomed and supported.
