Senior Corporate Accountant

Privately held real estate company adding a Senior Corporate Accountant to the team! Currently expanding their footprint outside of the southeastern United States, this role will work with the Controller to carry out day-to-day corporate accounting and ensure monthly reporting. Great opportunity to automate processes and procedures!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform monthly/quarterly/annual close procedures, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and corporate consolidation
• Review & reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (in accordance with GAAP)
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of management, investor & other ad-hoc reporting
• Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide explanations for variances
• Utilize technology, systems & software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
• Recalculate interest expense on debt & ensure timely payments, and prepare debt compliance reporting
• Communicate with external auditors, prepare & provide audit schedules and support, respond to audit inquiries, and assist in the resolution of audit findings

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Accounting degree preferred; (CPA and Big 4 a plus)
• 3-5 years or more relevant work experience needed, including full cycle close
• Detail-oriented with strong organization skills, strong in both written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in MS Excel & other MS Office products, Yardi experience is a strong plus
• Real estate accounting experience a strong plus (preferably residential real estate)
• Ability to read and understand legal contracts, residential leases, and other contracts
