Sales Tax Audit Data Specialis:

• This 6-7 week contract role for a Sales Tax Audit Data Specialist is based in Atlanta, GA, with a Monday-Thursday in-office schedule and Fridays working from home. The position primarily focuses on Washington state sales tax audits, requiring a meticulous individual with strong data manipulation skills and a proactive approach to vendor and auditor communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Retrieval & Management:

o Pull and organize invoices and other relevant financial documents.

o Extract and analyze data from SAP (primary system) and potentially Oracle.

o Manipulate large Excel spreadsheets to prepare data for audit purposes, including advanced use of XLOOKUPS .

o Isolate and prepare specific trucking data to show income generated per trip, ensuring accurate calculations.

· Vendor & Auditor Communication:

o Proactively follow up with vendors to request and obtain necessary invoices and documentation.

o Maintain diligent communication with auditors and internal stakeholders (e.g., Martin) to ensure all requirements are met and no details are overlooked.

· Audit Support:

o Prepare and present data in a clear, organized manner for the state of Washington sales tax audit.

o Assist in responding to auditor inquiries and providing requested documentation.

Qualifications

· Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a data-intensive role.

· Prior experience going through audits is highly beneficial.

· Background in logistics, distribution, or manufacturing (especially with internal transportation trucks) is preferred.

Technical Skills:

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including expert-level knowledge of XLOOKUPS and complex data manipulation.

· Familiarity with large ERP systems, specifically SAP . Experience with Oracle is a plus but not strictly required.

Soft Skills:

· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Strong follow-up and communication abilities, both written and verbal.

· Diligence and persistence in obtaining information from external parties.

Knowledge:

· While sales tax knowledge is helpful, it is not the primary focus; strong data and audit support skills are paramount.
