ABOUT
The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four civil/vertical construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, vertical construction, site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for moving dirt, rocks, equipment and materials, using Water Truck, Articulated Truck or Dump Truck. Follows all safety requirements and procedures outlined by all regulatory agencies and company policies.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily truck equipment inspections and all required safety equipment including, but not limited to; tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water, etc. before each shift to assure equipment is safe for usage.
- Completes written daily inspection report as required.
- Submits request for maintenance for any repair items.
- Maintains truck logs or time recordings as required by state, federal, and company policies and regulations.
- Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.
- Drive and maneuver equipment loaded and unloaded and be able to maneuver truck for safe dumping.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary.
- Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations of Brad Cole Construction, Co. Inc. and its customers.
- Communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
- Work occasional weekends, holidays, and/or overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class B).
- Demonstrated ability to operate dump truck and handle heavy construction equipment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent driving skills and ability to safely maneuver large vehicles in various traffic and road
- Ability to read and understand maps, GPS systems, and transportation routes.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class B).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
