Mechanical Estimator
Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary Rate: $70,000 - $100,000
Position Summary:
My client is a leader in the construction space, providing design- build services for commercial & industrial construction projects. We are looking for a skilled mechanical estimator who has experience estimating mechanical construction projects. If that sounds like you, please apply.
What You Will Do
- Prepare conceptual budgets and detailed estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems
- Develop cost models for thermal energy distribution, site drainage, roof drainage, sanitary sewer, and domestic/fire water utilities
- Perform quantity surveys using 2D and 3D takeoff tools and review drawings for discrepancies or conflicts
- Solicit, evaluate, and maintain communication with subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers
- Prepare mechanical system estimates, value-engineering options, and iterative cost updates throughout design phases
- Review proposals to ensure accurate scope coverage and pricing
- Communicate effectively with owners, general contractors, vendors, and internal team members
- Research and share updates on industry trends, new technologies, energy code changes, commodity pricing, and labor impacts
Experience Required
- 3+ years of preconstruction/estimating experience on large commercial or industrial mechanical construction projects
- Deep knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and mechanical system design
- Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal subcontractor/supplier assistance
- Valid driver's license
- Preferred certifications/memberships: LEED AP, ASHRAE, ASPE, USGBC, American Society of Professional Estimators
