Schedule: Mid Shift or Night Shift
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, corrective, and preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime and supporting production by troubleshooting and maintaining blending, pre-weigh, filling, packaging, and facility systems, including HVAC.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine, corrective, and preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize equipment downtime
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), corrective maintenance (CMs), and assigned work orders accurately and on schedule
- Follow established maintenance procedures, standards, and SOPs
- Assist with equipment installations, repairs, upgrades, and modifications
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and equipment records
- Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and improvement opportunities to supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and other departments to support safety, quality, and productivity goals
- Work with outside vendors, contractors, and service providers as directed
- Adhere to all company safety, housekeeping, regulatory, and policy requirements
- Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts (certification required or ability to obtain)
- Serve as a hands-on maintenance resource to support production needs across assigned shifts
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a food, dietary supplement, or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Experience troubleshooting equipment and implementing corrective actions
- Working knowledge of Maintenance Management Software preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Willingness to work weekends as needed
- Basic knowledge of OSHA, HACCP, and cGMP regulations preferred
- Technical school or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields
- Experience with electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing
- Understanding of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial controls
- Lean or Six Sigma experience a plus
- Redzone experience a plus
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment
- Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and use of tools
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Physical activities may include climbing, kneeling, crawling, bending, and reaching
- Ability to read displays, distinguish colors, hear alarms, and remain aware of surroundings
- Exposure to machinery with moving parts, humidity, and close-proximity teamwork
- Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions, ladders, scaffolding, and working alone
- Minimal travel required (infrequent visits to other facilities or activities)
