About This Role
Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our Two-Year-Old classroom team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for our young learners. Your ability to communicate effectively, listen actively, and work collaboratively with others will be essential in supporting the Lead Teachers, Director, and Assistant Director. By observing and documenting children's activities, meals, and progress, you will help develop positive relationships with our children and their families. Our ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and flexible, with a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to excellence.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a safe, comforting, and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development of each child.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the lesson plan and schedule, encouraging participation and engagement from children in accordance with our program goals.
- Communicate effectively with families on a daily basis, providing updates and information through Procare.
- Manage classroom materials, maintain cleanliness and organization, and ensure a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all children.
- Support the development of positive relationships with children, families, and staff, promoting a sense of community and teamwork.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Director, Assistant Director, or Lead Teacher, as needed.
- Must be able to work FT, Monday through Friday.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to receive a Satisfactory Comprehensive National background check through Bright From the Start.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children.
- Cannot be on electronics while on the clock, unless using Procare for documentation or given permission.
- Strong verbal communicator with an upbeat personality who is comfortable and excels with speaking to parents.
- Be clean, neat, dress professional at all times, and be a good role model for impressionable children.
- Cell phones are not acceptable unless required for reporting. Ear pods are not allowed at any time.
- Must be willing to follow our mission statement and lead by example.
- 1 year+ experience of on-the-job training.
- High school or equivalent (required).
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred) or within 90 days of hire.
- Maintain 18 hours of continued training for the year.
- Genuinely care about children and their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
- Be energetic, nurturing, positive, child-friendly.
- Prior experience in early childhood education, with a strong understanding of state licensing requirements.
- An ability to show initiative, a strong work ethic, and flexibility, with a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt to changing situations.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to our children.
