Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – In-House Subacute Rehabilitation

Location: 1311 West Cherry Street, Jesup, GA 31545
- Full-Time
- Part-Time
- PRN / Per Diem
- Flexible Scheduling Available
Schedule Options Include:
- Traditional 5-day workweek
- Four 10-hour shifts (4x10)
- Three 12-hour shifts (3x12)
- Hybrid schedule with designated remote documentation/administrative time (based on department needs and performance)
- Flexible hours to support work-life balance
Altamaha Health Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing in-house subacute rehabilitation team. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help residents recover from illness, injury, surgery, and hospitalization while maximizing their independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of the Physical Therapist
- Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence
- Document treatments, resident responses, progress, and outcomes accurately and timely in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Monitor resident status and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team
- Educate residents and families on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, fall prevention, and safety strategies
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and medical staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility policies, procedures, and documentation standards
- Foster a positive, compassionate, and collaborative rehabilitation environment
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Current Georgia Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing
- CPR certification preferred
- Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, or long-term care is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
