ABOUT
The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four civil/vertical construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, vertical construction, site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Concrete Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all projects, field crews, and foreman. This position requires a high level of proficiency in leadership and concrete construction, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and project specifications.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide leadership: Establish/maintain efficient & effective working relationships with staff.
- Manage field operations and coordinate with other personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches, in preparation of layout to determine dimensions and type of material required.
- Supervise and coordinate foreman activities, production schedules and estimate work requirements for completion of job assignments and schedule requirements.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure that concrete work meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues related to concrete quality and workmanship.
- Understands the means and methods of construction associated with concrete construction (including reinforced concrete structures, culverts, walls, bridges and slip form paving etc.)
- Ability to construct, erect, install and repair structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Concrete Superintendent within the construction industry, preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and construction plans accurately.
- Ability to manage and enforce safety and company polices with Foreman and crew members.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise and accurate workmanship.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule to meet project schedule and location requirements.
- Maintain flexibility with changing deadlines and fast-paced environment, as required by workload and business priorities.
- Travel will be required. Must be willing to travel and work from project sites across the Southeast for long periods of time.
