Network & Firewall Engineer

Location: Duluth, Atlanta GA (USA)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network & Firewall Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in network administration, firewall configuration, and troubleshooting in complex enterprise environments. This role requires working closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure network stability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, or equivalent) .

Manage and monitor LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks to ensure reliability and security.

Perform firewall policy management , rule optimization, and access control configuration.

Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.

Monitor network performance and security logs , ensuring uptime and compliance with security standards.

Collaborate with the Cyber-Security team to implement and maintain secure network practices.

Assist with network design, migrations, and upgrades for on-premises and cloud-based environments.

Provide L2/L3 technical support for escalated network and firewall incidents.

Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

5+ years’ hands-on experience with enterprise networking and firewall technologies.

Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, and load balancing .

Experience with firewall configuration, administration, and troubleshooting (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar).

Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or similar).

Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, IDS/IPS, and compliance standards .

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications : CCNA, CCNP (Routing & Switching / Security), Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent.

Experience in cloud networking and firewalls (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Prior experience working in international or large-scale enterprise environments .
