Electrical Engineer
Confidential Opportunity: Electrical Engineer II-III (Based on Experience) – Charlotte, NC
A reputable engineering company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II-III to join their team in Charlotte, NC. This position will involve designing and performing quality control for electrical and communications projects primarily focused on military, commercial, and industrial facilities. This is a unique opportunity to work on a variety of new and retrofit building and infrastructure projects, including those for Department of Defense facilities.
Position Summary: As a qualified professional engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems, preparing project specifications, performing cost estimates, and conducting inspections on construction projects. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to ensure that designs meet regulatory requirements and project specifications. Experience with Department of Defense projects or understanding the unique needs of the military is a plus.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Design electrical and communications systems for a variety of projects
- Evaluate and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to modify and adapt designs as needed
- Plan, design, and monitor projects for new construction, renovation, and improvement of facilities with unique requirements
- Conduct site visits to document conditions and assess progress
- Review subcontractor designs and perform quality control on engineering deliverables
- Assist with preparing reports, technical specifications, and cost estimates for construction
- Support the evaluation of contract bids and provide recommendations on project feasibility
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely completion of large-scale construction projects
- Use inspection data to prepare payment estimates for contractors
